September 7, 2022 – I just completed two Home Portraits for the Art League of Ocean City’s Sand Castle Home Tour. These will both be on the tour which is available both virtually and in person the end of September. It was fun to go and photograph these houses from different angles and in different light. The owners gave some input and I started painting.

The drawing and the masking take the most time. Once I have the drawing to my liking and the masking of all the white parts has dried, I can begin to paint. The painting is the fun part using the creative part of my brain.

I use a good bit of water in my painting and even though I had stretched the paper prior to starting, it buckled. I restretched it and was pleasantly surprised with two perfectly flat paintings.

They were dropped off to be matted and presented to the home owners for their participation in the tour. Can’t wait to see the houses inside now!
