May 5, 2017 – I have been working on how to paint water to look realistic and show motion. I think I am getting the idea of the shadows and reflections that mimic what my eyes see when I gaze out over the ocean. The sky was a bright blue with one small streak of clouds that February afternoon, so the focus was on the ocean, waves, and reflections. It inspires me to continue to paint and to learn what makes the light reflect or create shadows in nature. On to my next challenge, an egret reflected in the water of the wetlands out back.
